Turns out most of the country shuts down on Good Friday witness by the crowds in the Pubs last night. Loud and fun with many Pints joined in toasts to almost anything.
A correction from yesterday concerning the meals is necessary. I noticed last evening that we actually take a selection from the “Buttery” not the Buffery. The boys seem to be enjoying the choices and plates are generally empty in the end. Each gets a menu with 4 appetizer selections and soup of the day. The Potato Leek is a big hit. Then we have a selection of 8 main course choices from The Buttery plus a choice of cooked vegetables, potatoes, mushrooms, gravy’s and the like. Then they wheel a desert cart over and they get a choice of several very nice treats. Last evening it was Tiramisu, White Chocolate Cheesecake, Vanilla-Raspberry Tort, and something very chocolate.
We were wheels up about 10 minutes ago at 8:30 am. We play at Barking Abbey School at 10 am. From the looks of breakfast this morning and the quiet bus, the lads may be a little on the tired side today. PH tells me that this side will be more talented than yesterday’s test. The head of this team is also the director of the England U21 team. He or an assistant will be hosting the boys training on Monday. What a great experience that should prove to be for TFA.
What an epic adventure…more later.
